зяпам

Bulgarian

Etymology

Inherited from Proto-Slavic *zěpati (“to gape”). Meaning “to stare, to observe with amaze” may also reflect a contraction of an earlier *заяпам from Proto-Slavic *za(j)apati (“to observe”).
