млака

Bulgarian

Etymology

Inherited from Proto-Slavic *molka, cognate with Serbo-Croatian мла̏ка (“puddle”), Old East Slavic молокита (molokita, “marsh”). Probably further related to Czech mlkvý (“raw”).

According to some scholars, possibly akin to Proto-Slavic *melko (“milk”) (whence native мля́ко (mljáko)).
