Usage notes
- ілга́ць (ilhácʹ) and лгаць (lhacʹ) are considered the same word. ілга́ць (ilhácʹ) is used at the beginning of a sentence or after consonants and лгаць (lhacʹ) is used after vowels:
- Ты ня ўме́еш ілгаць. ― Ty nja ŭmjéješ ilhacʹ. ― You are unable to lie.
- Ня трэ́ба лгаць бацька́м. ― Nja tréba lhacʹ bacʹkám. ― There's no need to lie to (your) parents.
- ён ілжэ́ ― jon ilžé ― he is lying
- яна лжэ ― jana lže ― she is lying
