Old Armenian
Etymology
According to Ačaṙean, from Proto-Indo-European *pl̥-m- + -ուկ (-uk) and cognate with Ancient Greek πόλεμος (pólemos, “war, battle”); the primitive root *աղ- (*ał-) is found perhaps in the reduplicated verb աղաղմաղակեմ (ałałmałakem, “to make noise”).[1][2]
On the other hand, according to Petersson and Pokorny, from the onomatopoeic Proto-Indo-European *el-, *ol-, on which see ողբ (ołb).[3][4]
